BETA / preview versions are typically intended for system administrators in a business environment who want to test the BETA of an upcoming software release to look for bugs or potential problems, and then ensure those bugs are reported to the software developer and fixed before the next stable version goes into wide release. Generally speaking, I would recommend that you do not install any BETA versions since they can be buggy and unstable, and they should only be installed if you have been advised to do so by the developer because it includes an important bug fix. In the case of MS Edge it doesn't really matter what I choose to do because MS Edge performs automatic background update checks and will eventually update this browser for me if I don't do a manual check for updates at Help and Feedback | About Microsoft Edge. I have chosen to simply ignore the recommended BETA update for MS Edge on the Updates tab for now until a bug fix is released (or Tigzy re-classifies MS Edge as "Unsupported" so UCheck doesn't bother checking for the LATEST version) but others might prefer to right-click on Microsoft Edge on the Installed tab and choose "Exclude Software" or "Ignore Update". Is there any particular program(s) that you are concerned about?įor example, UCheck always recommends a BETA version for my stable MS Edge browser, but this is a known bug that has been reported at.
